A good friend of mine would give me this advice whenever I would talk with her and share a challenge, or a situation that was happening. I’d be frustrated, or upset that things weren’t going as I felt they should. Yes, you guessed it, I couldn’t control the situation. She would look at me and then look up and say, “Kim, offer it up”. Meaning, give it to Father.
It’s pretty amazing that I still find myself, on a pretty regular basis, needing this advice. But, I’m human, we’re all human and unlike Jesus, we make mistakes. We let this world and more honestly, we let Satan weasel his way into our thoughts, into our minds, into our hearts at times. He starts small and just keeps nagging and whispering in your ear and the next thing you know, you are a tied-up mess of emotions and ready to toss in the towel. Boom, he has you right where he wants you. STOP! Do not let Satan have that fun and satisfaction. Back in your hole Satan where you belong!
When you feel the stress building, feel your shoulders tighten, your emotions are high, walk away and offer it up. Make the time to lean into Father, ask for help to ease the tension, ease your emotions, and provide a clear path and way forward. Lean into Father for strength and support, and push Satan out of the way. Trust me, I know how easy it is to just sit and stew, but that is not where Father wants us. He is always here for us.
Go ahead, Offer it Up!
Isaiah 43:1 – 3
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
