Dogs, they are some of the most amazing creatures. Big or small, loud or quiet, you name it, they are such loving animals.
We adopt a dog as a pet and before we know it they are family. They understand our feelings, they provide entertainment, they rely on us, and most importantly they have unconditional love. Before we know it, they have become our best friends.
Sound like anyone else you know…..God has an incredible way of providing us with resources to make it through this time on earth. The gift of a pet is one such resource in my opinion. I think God provides us with pets, dogs for instance, as a way of nurturing. Yes those of us who have children understand that bond, but even if you haven’t physically had kids, you have a similar bond if you have a pet.
God has provided these animals to us to love and cherish and I believe that he gives them to us as a way to grow the process of loving another. But, when you actually look at your relationship with your pet, I’m guessing it might mirror the relationship that Father wants you to have with him. He understands our feelings, he does at times provide entertainment, he relies on us to spread his message, and most importantly, he has unconditional love for us.
Take a moment to give thanks for your pet(s). Know that you are their best friend and that they have only unconditional love for you. Then, sit back and thank Father for being your best friend and for having only unconditional love for you, (us).
God is with us, he will never forsake us, and in the end, he simply wants our love.
1 Peter 4:8
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins”.
