This morning we took our family back to the airport after a wonderful long weekend. It was a weekend filled with laughter, smiles, sunshine, wildlife, and love. Many memories were made and shared too.
Back to work today, and interestingly I’m not feeling the “ho-hum, ugh back to work blues”. You know, that dread of vacation is over, and now back to the craziness. I’m feeling an interesting sense of calm this morning and I believe it’s because of the time I spent with Father this weekend as well. He showed me so clearly the incredible blessings of my life in so many ways this weekend. I was able to see his hand in so many places.
I think God fills our lives with memories to help us through difficult times. However, I don’t think we take advantage of those memories, nor do we put them to good use when we should. What if, instead of getting upset during a stressful situation, we focused on a positive memory? What if we started our work week, or better yet every day with a positive memory instead of the dread or worry of what awaits at work? What if, those memories were not just fun times with family and friends, but what if those memories were those special times you spend talking with God? That’s how I tend to start my days lately, and it’s helped. I’ve made some very special memories with Father and he’s guiding me along a path for sure.
So as you head into work today, take a moment to think of a special memory. Maybe it’s something from this past weekend or a special day you had with your spouse, or maybe it’s even a memory from your childhood. Whatever the memory, as you recall it, take a moment to thank God for putting you in the place and time to create this special moment.
Build those memories with Father along the way, so that as you go forward, memories with him guide you and bring a calming smile as well 🙂
Acts 17:27
God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
