If you’ve been following this little blog for the last month, you know that I’m in the midst of the final planning of a very large conference in a few weeks. Every year we hold a charity event/activity to benefit the local communities where the conference is held. This year is no different.

We’ve had to be pretty flexible this year as the charity activity we’ve held the past few years has become cost prohibitive. I’ve been pretty anxious because we’ve never been this close to our event and have not had things buttoned up. Things have come together these last few weeks but there are a few details still open-ended.

Yesterday, I reached out to our attendees with information about the charity event, and in addition, made a special request to a select few. Well, Father was in the midst of everything I’m sure. The response from everyone was amazing!! “Can we make a monetary donation?”, “Can we order items on Amazon and have them shipped in?”, “I’ve reached out to the local agency that serves many of the local facilities with needs. We’ll get this done”.

God is in the hearts of his children. When a need arises, his children step up. People helping people. We do what we do. We help each other, we support each other, and we lift each other up. And…we keep Father close to us in our hearts.

I have no doubt that our annual charity event will be as wonderful and heartfelt as always. But, this year, it’s special. It’s special to me at least, because I know what is behind the scenes and the individuals who have made it happen.

Father, thank you for always being with us, and for helping us to keep the needs of others first and foremost in our hearts. Help us Lord to always be mindful of the needs of others.
