You all know that I love sunrises and sunsets. Um, this little blog is based on them. For as long as I can remember I’ve been taking pictures of them. I’m not a photographer by any means… but occasionally I can catch a sky that will take your breath away.
Over the years friends have sent to me some pretty awesome photos. I am blessed to see this world through God’s gifted children for sure!
Well, last night my granddaughter sent me this awesome picture. She and her boyfriend go to watch the sunset in the evenings at a “giant hill down the road from his house”. LOL, it’s Illinois so the giant hill is a relative thing. π
Anyway, she texted me last night to send the picture of the sunset they captured, (in the pics below). It was amazing. God’s paintbrush at work over the soybean field in Illinois. You see you don’t have to be on the beach in Florida or Hawaii to see a beautiful sunset. You also don’t have to be on a beach on the east coast to see an amazing sunrise. Father is at work around us every day, morning and night. Just look to find the gifts and they will be there.
I was so thankful for the gift of this text and pictures from my granddaughter last night. It was so much more than a picture of a sunset. It was our connection as a family. Though we are apart, we are together. God had given us this little “tool” to connect us from afar. You know the tool of the sunset, ya, that’s a minor thing π
As we approach this long holiday weekend I encourage you to not only relax but to take some time to give thanks to Father for everything he provides. Enjoy this beautiful land we love, and be thankful that God has gifted it to us.
Oh, and take a picture of that sunset wherever you are, trust me you won’t regret it π I love you Dakota, to the moon and back π
Romans 11:36
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
