“Amazing, Life Changing”

If you’ve been following me these last few days, you know that I’m in Scottsdale for our annual conference which starts on Wednesday. The photographer for our event is a friend I’ve come to know over the last several years. He and his wife live not far from me, and to say that Joey’s work is exceptional would be an understatement. They’ve never been to AZ and I’ve been excited to see what views Joey would capture. So far he hasn’t disappointed and he’s only been here since Friday afternoon 🙂

Yesterday Joey and his wife Erin made the trip to the Grand Canyon. Yes, I’m totally jealous as I’ve never been, so I’m hoping to live vicariously through them. I saw a couple of pictures on social media throughout the day of them there, but it was what Joey said after he returned that has been repeating over and over in my head. I was headed to dinner last night when I saw Joey capturing the sunset from a hotel balcony. I asked, “How was the trip to the Canyon?”. He smiled big and said, “Amazing, life-changing”. My response was quick and simple, “God has a way of doing that with his gifts”.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Joey’s response. Here is an incredibly gifted child of God who has published some of the most amazing pictures I’ve been fortunate to see. Yet, Father spoke to him through the simple gift of a different view of nature. A gift so beautiful that it moved him to say it was “life-changing”.

On this Sunday morning, take a moment to look around. What do you see? Father provides so many gifts in so many forms, the simplest of which is the gift of this beautiful land. Simple gifts that are truly “Amazing and Life Changing”.

Here are just a few of Joey’s amazing pictures over the last few days, and I can’t wait to see the views he captured at Father’s Grand Canyon. Oh, I’m guessing he’ll have a few great pics this week at our conference too 🙂

Thank you Father for the gift of talented children like Joey. Your love flows through them as they capture the beauty you have given. May you watch over them and continue to bless them with their amazing talent.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
