Yesterday afternoon I went to pick up some things from a friend who has been up north for the summer. She and her husband live just across the street from the beach and their 1st-floor condo, as you might expect was severely damaged by Ian. Actually, her entire complex looks like a war zone. The entire street they live on is indescribable.
As I drove through the neighborhoods getting closer to her home I started to see piles of sand on the sides of the road. Then, the piles and piles and piles of furniture, cabinets, trees, etc., all piled on the road. When I turned down her street, a major roadway that runs along the beach, again, the piles of stuff and now the mud. It was so sobering.
We talked for a while, and after many hugs and some tears I helped them close up their place, (they were done doing what they could for the day), and we headed out. As I drove back through the mess I was reminded of this song from Mercy Me. I know that Father can change anything, he can stop anything, he can heal anything, but sometimes he just doesn’t. There are lessons in the trials that we go through in life. We’re going through them to learn, understand, teach, and change.
So this morning, I offer this song as hope for each and every one of us who are going through this life. Father is always with us friends, spend a little time with him this morning as you make your way into your day 🙂
John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
