Sometimes a Picture is All You Need

I’ve had the same picture on my computer and laptop for as long as I can remember. It’s a picture of a dock that looks over the gulf at the beautiful 10,000 islands near Marco. It’s one of my favorite places on earth. It’s my happy place. I’ve stood on that dock for literally hours with a fishing pole, just looking off over the water.

Yesterday was not one of my better days. You know you get going on a project, you think things are clicking, and then wham something happens that derails everything, grrrr. I was upset at the work I felt was wasted, and was kicking myself for not listening to my gut on the timing of things. When I finally got up from my desk after 6:00pm I was not in a good place.

With help from my husband, we got dinner on the table and settled on a feel-good movie to take my mind off things. I said a few prayers to Father to help me relax and asked for him to help push ol’ Satan out of my head, given that he had, had a field day in there over the past few hours!

I went to put my phone away for the night and saw the beautiful picture on my computer screen. I literally stopped and stared and realized how fortunate I am. I live in paradise, I have a loving family, amazing friends, and a God who loves unconditionally. Yes, there will be days that aren’t the best, and I do need to try harder to not let the challenges of this world overtake the good.

Today is a new day and another opportunity to put God first and let him guide me along this journey. Father be with me today and help me to have you first and foremost in my heart.

Have a good day friends. Oh, and please lift some prayers again for our Sunshine state as Nicole makes her way through over the next day or so.

2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
