The Feelings of Thanksgiving

Here. We. Go. Prep work has already begun in many homes I’m sure. It did in mine last night with the brining of the pork. It was good to be back amid Thanksgiving meal prep, boy the memories sure are coming back. But, not just the memories, the feelings of years past are even better.

So, are you meal-prepping today? Perhaps you’re making pies or pre-making that green bean casserole, or drying the bread for the stuffing. Whatever you’re doing today, I hope you’re enjoying memories and feelings from Thanksgiving’s past.

This holiday more than any other provides us with so many opportunities to come together. Actually, this holiday was founded on coming together, celebrating a harvest and a people, and giving thanks for what they had. Even as bad as things can be, there is reason to give thanks and there is always hope. Let us take a little time over the next few days to remember the founding of this holiday, and let us take time to give thanks for the many gifts in our lives.

I guess I’ve sounded kind of like a broken record over the last few days, talking about giving thanks and enjoying memories and special feelings. But this life is so short and we have such little time here, it’s important to remember the gifts we have and to remember that they were given by God.

Father has blessed us, friends, he is always with us and he will never forsake us. As you prepare today and celebrate tomorrow, please take time to give thanks. Please also lift prayers for those less fortunate and for God to show us how we can make a difference in their lives.

Enjoy your day friends, I give thanks every day for you 🙂

Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
