Here we are, just six days away from Christmas, and if you’re like me, you’ve been playin’ the Christmas tunes quite non-stop 🙂 . I’ve put together a little playlist of favorites for this year and this song, Mary Did You Know, has been running through my head.
I can’t even imagine the weight that Mary felt carrying God’s Son. Of course if you are a parent, especially a mother, you have questions, fears and maybe even concerns when you are pregnant. Will my baby be healthy, will I be a good parent, will I be able to provide for them, etc. But Mary, the questions she must have had, and I’m sure those questions only multiplied as she raised her son, only to watch him be sacrificed in the end.
In the end, all of Mary’s questions were answered. The key of course is that she trusted in Father. She raised her little baby with incredible faith and love.
There is a verse in this song that just gets me every time I hear it, it goes like this, “When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God”. I think this verse speaks to all mothers, because our children are all gifts from God.
I hope you find a moment to listen to this beautiful rendition by the group Home Free. As you make your way through this week to Christmas, keep Mary in mind, she didn’t know in the beginning what would happen, but, she trusted in the Lord. That’s what Father asks of us, “Trust in Me”.
Luke 1:38
And Mary said, “Behold, I am a servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
