I guess you all know by now that I tend to toss a song into this little blog every now and then. I don’t have a system for picking them, I’m not that professional, 🙂 , no most of the time I’ve recently listened to the song and it touches me so much that I just want to share it. I know that sometimes the song may not be one that many listen to, or have even heard, which is not a bad thing. If we can find new music, especially music that touches us, that’s a good thing.
Anyway, this morning, not sure why, but this morning this song was in my head. I’m guessing most of you know it, especially if you are a country music fan. The song is sung at many weddings, usually for the father/daughter or mother/son dances, which I totally get. The lyrics of the song were written by Jeffrey Steele, he actually wrote it for his daughter. He said he wanted her to know that he would always be there for her, he would always be thinking about her.
I think if you listen to the lyrics of this song, it’s also a message from Father to us. God has many wishes for his children, “never needing to carry more than we can hold”, “I hope you always forgive”, and “you help somebody every chance you get are”, just some of the verses in this song. It’s a beautiful tune and as I’ve been growing stronger in my relationship with Father, I’ve found different meanings in many songs. You see I believe God uses us to spread his message even when we don’t realize it, and this time I think he used the talents of Mr. Steele.
My wish today friends is that you enjoy this song as much as I did this morning and “I hope you know somebody loves you”, (as the song says). Our God loves us beyond all understanding and he, like Mr. Steele and his daughter, is always here for us.
Enjoy friends and have a great day 🙂
1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
