Toby Update

About a month ago, well actually it was one month ago today, I shared in this little blog that I was going to help a neighbor with his handsome King Charles Spaniel named Toby. You see Toby’s “dad”, our neighbor, his wife passed away last July. Well, Toby was devoted to his mom. When he wasn’t taking a walk, he was by her side, and since her passing, Toby has been very lonely.

Toby’s dad is a golfer and he was feeling bad that Toby was home by himself more than he had been accustomed to over the past several years. Well, I volunteered to stop by and spend some time with him on those golf days.

Some of you have reached out to ask how Toby is, and how the new routine is going. Well, I’m happy to report that the little guy seems more chipper and he loves to see me, (he has dubbed me auntie Kim). We check in each morning to confirm if his dad is golfing and if so I assure him that we’ll take a walk about mid-way through. I usually see Toby, and his buddy Milton, each morning when I come home from working out. Although, last Friday I didn’t realize there was a K-9 coffee clutch near our driveway. Half the neighborhood dogs were gathered to say good morning, (sorry I digress) šŸ™‚ .

Anyway, yes Toby is doing much better, we have a great time walking, and occasionally running around the community. It’s really a win/win situation, Toby isn’t alone, his dad can enjoy golf without the worry, and I get a short break in my day to get up from my desk and walk. It’s something I look forward to doing and it’s a small way to help a neighbor.

There are so many little things we can do for each other, sometimes we don’t realize how much help and relief we can give with simple actions. Walking a dog, making some cookies, driving a friend to an appointment, or just letting someone know you are praying for them can change someone’s day. I encourage you to look for the little things you can do to help a neighbor or friend. You just never know how much help you can bring until you do šŸ™‚ .

Happy Sunday my friends, enjoy your day šŸ™‚ .

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
