I’m traveling on business these few days, holding a planning/brainstorming meeting with some awesome people. I make it a habit when I travel to add to my daily prayer, “Father please keep me safe as I travel”. Yesterday I changed it to say, “Father please keep us all safe as we travel”. Well, he did of course and we’re ready for a great few days of work.
Sometimes I find that the simplest prayers are often the most comforting and bring me closest to God. The simple prayers that are more of a conversation with Father help me to connect and sort of ground myself if that makes sense. Of course, there are regular prayers in our Sunday service at church that reground us, and I always love to live into those prayers. The Lord’s Prayer, for instance, my goodness when I say, “Thy Will be Done”, it reminds me that He is in control, not me.
Today though, I simply offer a little prayer for guidance as our group sets out to do some awesome work.
Father, as we come together today I ask that you be in our midst. Please Father guide us as we use our gifts and talents to share our thoughts and ideas, challenge each other, and overcome obstacles that may block our progress. Lord help us to take the lessons we’ve learned in the past and apply them to the future. Father give us open minds to think of new ideas, and open hearts to understand how we might implement them fully. Be with us today Lord and help us along this path. In your precious name, I pray Father.
Friends, whatever you are doing today, I hope you’ll start your morning off with a simple prayer to Father. I can’t think of a better way to start the day. Have a great day, and remember that He is always with us, he’ll never forsake us and He always wins 🙂 .
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
