Passion

If you’ve been following this little blog over the past few days you know I’m traveling on business. I’m facilitating a planning meeting with a pretty awesome group of professionals. To say that I’m blessed to know this group of individuals would be an understatement.

I have to admit wasn’t sure how this weekend would play out. I had initial thoughts and expectations. I knew some of the discussions might be difficult, might raise challenges, and might bring out differing opinions we may not be able to resolve. Well, we did tackle some challenges, and we even had differing opinions at times, both great things, and we did resolve and overcome them. However, even though I’ve known most of the individuals in this group for a very long time, I was humbled as I watched this weekend unfold…

Everyone in this group is a successful business professional. They have invested themselves in helping their business and their teams grow beyond their potential. Each and every one of these individuals has a passion for success, but more importantly, they have a passion for helping others succeed and grow. This weekend, that passion came pouring out into the work that was done. The sense of loyalty, integrity, and the overwhelming desire to do what was right for the future was so prevalent in every step of what was accomplished. There have been many times in my long career, I’ve left planning meetings like this feeling like I wasted my time. My gosh, this is certainly not the case, as I write this little blog this morning.

Father was present this weekend, I’d actually go so far as to say he was in our midst throughout it all. I saw Him at work and saw Him guide us along the way. This passion that I witnessed, it’s a gift and it comes from God. He instills it in each of us, it’s our choice to tap into it and apply it and I was fortunate to see it in action at a level I didn’t even realize existed.

So this morning my friends, I give thanks to Father for being so present in these last few days. I thank Him for the gift of this group of amazing individuals, and I thank him for showing me the true passion that makes this group so strong. May we all use the passion for the things we love for making this place we call home a better place.

Have an awesome Sunday everyone 🙂 .

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
