God Provides

A few weeks ago I shared a story about the beautiful eagle family that lives up in Fort Meyers. Harriet, the mother, and her mate M-15 had just become new parents, and as of this little blog post Harriet had been missing for almost 36 hours. Well, unfortunately, more than three weeks later she has still not returned and the worst is feared. Harriet had been seen fending off predator birds in the days before and the speculation is, while M-15 was out hunting for food, she did not fare well while protecting her eaglets.

Over the past few weeks, many have been watching the live video stream of the nest, it really is fascinating I must say. The father, M-15 has seamlessly taken over caring for his young. Many a time I’ve turned on the camera to see him arrive with food and meticulously feed his two babies and then cover them while they sleep. Father has been watching over this young family and has been providing the protection needed for M-15 to hunt while his eaglets are left alone in the nest.

Over the past few days though, a new female has not only been seen with M-15, she has been perched on the branch of the tree next to him, and he has even allowed her into the nest. M-15 has allowed her to eat with him while he feeds the eaglets. And…just two days ago this female was seen feeding the youngins’. From what I understand a new potential mate is rarely found this early, and rare to allow them near the young.

Weeks ago when Harriet went missing we all feared what would happen. Would M-15 be able to take care of his babies without her, would the young be attacked while he went to look for food, would M-15 even want to take care of them? Well, he has done a wonderful job since his mate has been gone. Now it looks like there may be a new beginning occurring before us.

Once again, God has provided. He has brought support to M-15 and more protection to these little ones. Will these two become lifelong mates, that is yet to be seen. For now, though, Father is watching over this little family.

Just like with this amazing eagle family, Father provides for us as well. Whatever the situation, whatever the challenge, He is here for us. When we need strength, guidance, or laughter, we just need to lean into him. Yes, I did say laughter, I do believe Father has a pretty good sense of humor, he has us, right? The point is, we are all God’s creation and he is here for every living creature on this earth.

I look forward to watching how this young family continues to grow and one day watching the eaglets leave the nest. And…I’ll continue to pray for their safety and God’s protection.

Have a great day my friends, remember Father is always here for us 🙂 .
