This morning as I was having a bit of writer’s block, I found myself doing other things before sitting down here. As I think I’ve mentioned before, I have a routine each morning, and I’m guessing you all know, when you get out of the routine, well it kind of puts you out of sorts. I realized I was doing other things trying to think of an idea for today’s little blog, instead of just sitting down and asking Father to help me with the words. Ya, I know, one day I’ll figure it out π .
When I did sit down and simply “offered it up” to Him and asked for guidance I heard the words, “I am with you”. Well, now that was comforting in more than one way of course. Boom, I had the idea for today’s little blog, and most importantly, knowing that He is there.
Actually, the words I am with you are used in so many ways in today’s world and many times I think we take them for granted. I know I’ve said this to friends and family, especially when they are going through difficult times. I want them to know that even though I’m not physically there, I am supporting them from afar. I want them to know I care and I’m sending my love and prayers to them.
Even if you are physically with someone, just reassuring them that you will not leave them is comforting. When my youngest had back surgery many years ago, she had an issue about two weeks after. We ended up back in the hospital and had a second surgery, and it was very, very frightening. I found myself saying over and over, I’m here, I’m not going anywhere. I think it comforted both of us.
Before Jesus ascended into Heaven he told his disciples that He was with them always. Yes, He is with US always. I guess this morning Father felt I needed to hear that. I’m wondering if some of you did as well.
We need to continue to be here for each other my friends. In today’s world with the craziness, the distractions, and yes let’s face it, the ugliness, we need to let each other know that we are here for each other. Let’s do our best to lift each other when needed most. I’ll be here doing what I can with this little blog each day π .
Have a great day my friends!
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, βAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.β
