Ya, I’d be fibbing just a tad if I said I’d never thought of doing this. Sometimes this world gets so crazy you just want to run away from it all, make it go away. It’s been a long week, lots going on, juggling many priorities, and my brain was a little overloaded. You all know the feeling right? Well, we all know that running away is not a long-term solution to anything.
However…there are times when it is ok to just get away from it. Like today for instance. Most of you know that one of my passions is fishing. I can spend hours with a fishing pole, a bucket of bait, and just my thoughts. Today is one of those days that I’m going to get away and spend time in God’s glorious outdoors. It’s much needed and long overdue.
Since Ian hit last September I haven’t been able to go to my favorite fishing spot. Then we had the bout with the red tide so that shut things down for a bit as well. Today though, off we go and ya, I am so totally looking forward to it!
Friends, there are times we all just simply need to take a break, step back and get away from things. Our bodies and especially our minds need to be able to step away from the constant pressures we sometimes feel. And, if you can get away to the outdoors, the fresh air and sunshine, even better. So I hope today you can do just that, take a break and enjoy the beauty of this gift that the Lord has given for us.
Have a wonderful day my friends, go ahead, run away today 🙂
Psalm 104:24-25
O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great.
