Fish and Friends

Yesterday in this little blog I shared with you all how I was looking forward to a much-needed downtime day. Actually, I think I phrased it as running away from the craziness of the week. Well, I’m happy to say the running away was successful, in many ways actually.

I was able to enjoy time outside on the water. If you know me, you know that any time I can get near the ocean is a plus, and when you throw in fishing with it, even better. Well, Father delivered an incredibly beautiful day, sky and water were as blue as could be.

The fishing was great, though admittedly could have been better. We had some big “fish on” moments, meaning fish on the line, but lost several with lines being snapped. A large 25# grouper did make its way into the boat, a great land by one of our friends, who doesn’t fish, LOL! We have fish in our freezer and will be enjoying some this evening as well, so all is good.

The more important part of the day though was spending time with friends. This group of friends is mutual to my husband and me, however, two of the couples didn’t know each other. That can be a little stressful wondering if friends will hit it off, especially when you are going to be together for a lengthy amount of time. Well, no worries, everyone got along wonderfully, kind of like we’d known each other for a long time. There was laughter and stories and more laughter and just a great time learning about each other.

Father provided a perfect day, an opportunity to meet new people, and a time to relax and enjoy the gifts he provides. I think He wants us to keep connecting His children. There are so many little ways to keep spreading His love, and it can start with just a simple introduction.

Wishing you a wonderful day my friends. I hope you are able to spend a little time with Father and enjoy the incredible gifts He gives each day.

Oh, and I’m taking a crack at that sourdough starter again this afternoon 🙂

As each has received a gift, use it to server one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
