Recently there have been some friends who have asked for prayers for family members. It’s easy many times to just stop and say a prayer for that person as you add your little praying hands emoji to the comments of their post. However, I realized how much more intentional I need to be with these prayers.
I’ve started to make mental notes of those friends asking for prayer on social media. Each morning and evening I make a point to say their names, some of them I don’t even know personally. I ask Father specifically for what they need, to heal their body, to comfort them as they grieve the loss of their child, to stop the fires close to their homes, etc.
I know we have all talked about the power of prayer in our lives, we’ve all witnessed it. But, do we really realize how powerful our prayers are? I think the more intentional we are in prayer, the more specific we can be the more powerful the prayer. Father hears us, he answers prayer, although not always in our timeframe and not always with the answer we are expecting.
So today friends, as I write this little blog, I simply ask that you help me lift some prayers for a few friends who could use them. Father, today as we begin the day I simply ask that you send your healing spirit into Kayla as she battles cancer, be with your child Ray, keeping him comfortable as he makes his final walk through this life, bring your healing power to Tija and continued skills to the doctors seeking answers for her, be with Kelsey and protect the little girl she carries inside her just a little while longer until she makes her way into this world, be with Monica giving her strength and peace each day as she mourns the loss of her daughter. Father please be with all your children who need your strength and healing, wrap them in your arms and give them peace knowing that you are always with them.
Thank you, my friends. Let’s take more time to pray and be very intentional in doing so. I know prayers work, I’ve seen it, friends have shared their stories about it, Father hears us, but hey, the louder we are together in prayer, the better 🙂 . Happy Friday my friends!
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
