Seasons Change

I was going to start this little blog today by giving an update on my furbaby buddy Toby. If you’re new here, you probably don’t know about the handsome little pup in the neighborhood that I take for a walk while his human, (owner), plays golf. You can learn more about how it started, in this little blog from a few months ago. Thinking about Toby though, made me squirrel off to another path and some other thoughts, nah, I never do that. I’ll get to those thoughts in a moment.

So, my buddy Toby, yes, he’s doing well, and I took a little break yesterday afternoon to take him out for some sunshine. It’s been a few weeks since we’ve walked, I’ve been traveling, he’s had family in town, and schedules were just out of sync. Anyway, it was nice to take a short break and spend a little time outside, and even better when I can do it with my buddy.

Usually, when I walk Toby we’ll meet up with other dogs in the community. Not so yesterday though. You see, the “season” here is coming to an end, which means the snowbirds are headed back north for the summer. So, it’s pretty quiet around here. Now, don’t get me wrong I LOVE the decrease in the number of vehicles on the road here, (you can actually get through a stop light in one cycle), but I do miss the conversation, the liveliness of the community, etc.

The seasons are changing once again. For those of you up north, you are finally getting some nice weather, things are greening up, and planting has begun. The scenery is changing, and new life is occurring all around us. But, the seasons are changing in other ways as well. Recently, two friends I know said goodbye to loved ones. A father for one, a mother for the other friend. Seasons changing in their lives in a much more personal level.

Our world is changing all the time, and seasons will certainly continue to change. By that I mean the seasons of this life, not just the seasons that change our weather. What’s important is how we keep Father with us through those changes. He brings the gifts of the beauty of Spring and even the first bright day in Winter, and He brings the hope of new life when the time comes to be with Him in Heaven.

Yes, friends the seasons will continue to change in our lives, that we cannot stop. However, with God by our side, we can always know we are never alone in going through them. Thank you Lord for the gift of seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, and for the life seasons we experience with you by our side.

Have a great day my friends 🙂

Ecclesiastes 3:1
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
