Two very short simple words, it’s ok. They can mean many things to many people at different times. This morning as I was gathering thoughts on what to write about, I did what I usually do, I quietly asked, Father to help me to have the words, and clearly what I heard was “It’s ok”. So hear we are 🙂
I know we’ve all said these words to friends or family. You console your child after they lose a big game, a friend drops a glass on your kitchen floor and it shatters, the waiter delivers the wrong meal to your table, and what instinctively comes out is, “It’s ok”. I think in general that is how we use this little phrase. We console, we acknowledge that what happened isn’t earth-shattering and that things will be fine.
I’d like to look at this little phrase in another light though. I think God gave me these words this morning for a reason. Like many, I find myself these days feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Some days things just seem “off”. My husband and I were just talking about this the other day. It just seems so easy to feel out of sorts which is not like me. Well, perhaps this is Father saying, “Um it’s ok to ask me to help”. I really don’t think we can talk to Him too much. I think God wants us to ask for help, I think he wants us to lean on Him and to grow in our relationship with Him. He is here to guide us if we but ask.
In this world where things “seem off” some days, it’s ok to feel like you need help, and it’s ok to ask for that help. It’s also ok to feel pain, to feel anger and it’s ok to let it out in tears if needed. And friends, it’s ok to just stop when you need to and pray. Father never said that this thing called life would be an easy journey, but what He had promised us is that He is with us always, even until the end.
Remember, Father is here with us, it’s ok to ask Him to help! Oh, and if the server at the coffee shop hands you the wrong coffee, let ’em know it’s ok, hey give it a try you might find something new 🙂 .
Have a great day friends!
1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
