From Book to Blog

This morning I was reading through a notebook I have, it’s actually the notebook that started this little blog. I think I’ve mentioned before that initially I wanted to write a book that shared God’s love through the many sunrise and sunset pictures I’ve taken. I’m not sure how others who’ve written books get started, but I bought a big spiral notebook and began writing some thoughts, short little snippets, and paired those snippets with some of my favorite bible verses. Then I started writing down picture numbers from my files to go along with those snippets and verses. Before I knew it I had the beginnings of a little book.

I’m guessing I’m like some as well, who start the process of writing a book and then for whatever reason, the business of life I guess, we set it aside to “come back to”. Yes, that was my case. I actually started physically writing those pages on Good Friday morning in 2022. My husband and I were doing the watch at our church that morning. I brought my notebook and my bible and began writing. It was one of the most peaceful, productive times I’ve spent in a long time, and I truly believe that was Father’s nudge to get on with sharing his love in a bigger way.

Well, Father kept nudging me until it became a full-fledged push several weeks later when I started this little blog. It’s morphed into more than I originally envisioned. But isn’t that how God works, we start small, and before we know it our work for Him grows into something much bigger.

This morning friends, I read this little prayer and I think it was timely that I found it. I think it was Father reminding me that writing this little blog each day is what He wants me to be doing. I hope this prayer may speak to you the way it did to me.

Almighty and eternal God,
so draw our hearts to you,
so guide our minds,
so fill our imaginations,
so control our wills,
that we may be wholly yours,
utterly dedicated unto you;
and then use us, we pray you, as you will,
and always to your glory and the welfare of your people;
through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a great day my friends, and remember God is always with us, and God always wins πŸ™‚

But you, take courage. Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.
