Out of My Routine – Hmmm

This morning I kind of dropped out of my normal routine, like totally out of it. I realized though, it really is ok. I decided last night not to set an alarm this morning, although admittedly that really didn’t work. I got up like 20 minutes later than I normally do, so maybe that part of the routine is still pretty much the same.

However, I focused on getting some little things accomplished that simply needed to be done. Spent some time with Father to say good morning then moved right into just tidying up some things around the house. I cannot believe how much better this made me feel this morning. And…I’ve decided to make the grocery store run right after this to get that out of the way. All done before I sit down at the desk for the rest of the day.

I started thinking as I sat down to write this little blog, which is also a little late for my weekday posts, because, yes, I’m a little out of the routine 🙂 . Anyway, I thought about how yes routine is good, but you know what, sometimes maybe Father steps in and says, “Nah, do something else today”. Maybe he knows that when we get into too much of a routine, perhaps we get into a rut, perhaps our vision gets clouded, and perhaps we don’t see the forest through the trees.

I noticed this morning, that when I got up I wasn’t in the best of moods. I was irritated that I had hoped to sleep in just a bit, but was up pretty much as normal, (that was my mind thinking about all I have to do). However, as I made my way through accomplishing little things that I wouldn’t normally do, as I did different things, even listening to a little music, my mood changed. I feel like I’ve gotten some things done that have been sitting for a while, I have a plan for the rest of my day, and things seem brighter. Sounds weird I guess, but I do think changing it up this morning has helped.

So, if you’re in a rut, if you’re feeling unfocused, feeling overwhelmed, what the heck, change up the routine. Clean your bathroom before you go to work, ya it worked for me this morning 🙂 . Most importantly friends, spend a little time with Father each day. Talk with Him on the way to work, on the way home, or hey, how about sitting with Him during your lunch, instead of eating at your desk, (which we all do in this crazy time).

Wishing you all a great day friends, and remember God is always with us.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
