Ahhh, the weekend, ’nuff said right? As I sat on the lanai this morning with my morning chat with Father I thought about these last weeks of summer. Soon school will be starting, fall sports, for us in SW Florida, increased traffic, and the hustle and bustle all the seasonal changes bring. For now, though, the morning was peaceful, not much on the schedule for today, and I guess I just call this a simple Saturday. I’m grateful for mornings and days like this, they are much needed.

So for this simple Saturday, I wanted to just share a simple prayer. I don’t have any special stories to share, no hey this happened yesterday, just a simple prayer in this little blog today friends.

Heavenly Father we come to you this morning to give thanks for the weekend. We give thanks for the gifts that you provide, the gift of rest, relaxation, and the gift of simplicity. Most importantly Father we give thanks for your Son, our Lord Jesus who you gave to us, may we never take that most precious gift for granted. Father, we ask today that you guide our hearts to love as you loved, to help as you helped, and to give of ourselves as you gave. May we always strive to be children with whom you are most proud. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
