My husband and I stopped in at one of our local community restaurants just down the road from our house. We had already had a celebratory dinner a few nights ago, so it was nice to just stop in at this little place where, like the famous Cheers bar, “everyone knows your name”. We had some laughs with others there that we literally only know from the comings and goings of this little restaurant. When we stepped outside after dinner though, I glanced up to see that the sky was just amazing. Unfortunately, I don’t think my picture did it justice, (it’s the cover of today’s little blog).
As we made the short trip home, the shapes of the clouds and the colors just continued to change, it really was beautiful. I could feel Father at work with that paintbrush of His. I could almost see Him just enjoying what He was creating, almost feel Him saying, “Look what I have made for you to enjoy”.
This morning, I took a seat on our lanai to have my morning check-in and prayer with Father, and as I looked up, the sky was bright with the most beautiful moon. I mean I honestly thought our neighbors had turned on their front porch light it was so bright. No, it was the moon literally lighting up the ground it was so bright. Again, Father greeting me with a “Good Morning, look at what I did while you were sleeping, I make all things bright”.
You all know that this little blog started as a way to share sunrises, sunsets, and the word of our Lord. In doing this I obviously find myself looking up to see the wonderful creations that Father provides in the sky. However, what I’m finding is the incredible peace I gain when I look up and not just see the beauty, but when I look up and can feel the connection with God. I can hear Him when I need Him, giving guidance, comfort, and His love.
I know it’s customary to bow our heads when we pray, and I think there are very appropriate times to do this. However, I find myself more and more, looking up when I talk with Father. I find myself having more and more conversations with Him as my best friend, someone I want with me all the time.
So my friends, as you begin your day, I encourage you to just look up and not only enjoy the beauty of that incredible sunrise, or that moonset. While you’re doing so, have a chat with Father and let Him know how much you appreciate the work He has done and continues to do.
Have a wonderful day my friends 🙂 .
