Nana’s

Yesterday in this little blog I shared how I felt Father was telling me to step away from the craziness of the days and to relax a little with him. Many of you commented on how you felt the same. I even saw some beautiful pictures on social media of many of you relaxing and clearing your mind. Father was with us for sure because at the end of the day, he painted the most beautiful sky and we all shared that view across the country šŸ™‚ . That was him saying, “Did I not tell you that when you relax and come to me, I will lift you up”.

Well, after I wrote the little blog yesterday morning, my husband and I decided to head out and have breakfast somewhere. We usually don’t do this on Saturdays, but hey, time to relax and do something different. I had recently heard about a little local diner called Nana’s. Their sign says, “Southern Food with Attitude”. It’s this little place in a strip mall and when you step inside you honestly feel like you have just stepped into a business in a small town in the south.

The place was so clean, the wait staff was incredibly pleasant, and treated you like they knew you forever. You could tell there were many “regulars” there for breakfast, the conversation was just like you’d find in some small town. When we looked at the menu, oh ya, it was straight out of the south, including country fried steak skillet, (which my husband had). The coffee was great, nothing fancy, just tasted good.

As we sat and took in our surroundings, I noticed how everyone seemed relaxed. Yes, the servers were busy, but they weren’t tense, then weren’t stressed, they were just buzzing around serving food, laughing with customers, and sharing stories. The atmosphere was happiness. So many times today you don’t see that in businesses because they are short-handed, the clientele is rude, etc. But Nana’s, not the case at all. Everyone was genuinely happy to be there, whether they were working or enjoying the food.

Father was at work again. He brought us to a place that we had never been to, He helped us see that even in today’s cray, cray world, even with all the challenges we face, there is genuine happiness. That little visit changed my outlook of the entire day, it had flipped 180 degrees from when I woke up.

Friends, it is up to us to change the ugliness we see in this world. It is up to us to share a smile, to help a person in need, to just simply say Good Morning, and more importantly Thank You. The love of Father that was on display in that simple little diner yesterday was stronger than in most places I’ve been in a long time. So let’s take a lesson from Nana’s and let’s share the good that Father asks us to share.

Have a wonderful day my friends and hey, if you’re headed to breakfast, may you find a Nana’s near you šŸ™‚ .

Galatians 5:13
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
