Emotional – That’s Father

Yesterday our priest who gave the sermon began by sharing a prayer that he prayed for his children each night. As he began to say the prayer he paused, tears came to his eyes and he stopped to compose himself. He closed his sermon with this same prayer, and again he had to stop as he choked up. He finished the prayer and the sermon and as he made his way back to his seat I was thinking what a wonderful message he had shared.

Throughout the rest of the day though, I thought about the emotion that he felt as he spoke the words of that prayer. Father filled him with that emotion. The love of Our Father was so strong in him and he was filled with such emotion, he was brought to tears just saying the prayer.

I think we have all had times when we’ve prayed to Father and the tears have come. I know many times I’ve been brought to tears saying the Lord’s prayer or saying the 23rd Psalm. That is God moving in us and helping us to see His unconditional love.

This morning as I thought about this little blog and what to share, I realized the message that God made clear over the past several days. First the wonderful experience at a little diner on Saturday. The joy that was shared with others in that place was uplifting. Then yesterday emotion was felt while saying a simple prayer. Yes, Father is showing me that we can do this. We can change the ugliness that is in our midst. I see it happening more and more, people coming together to help each other in many different ways. I see more and more sharing God’s love and strength with each other.

Father has given us what we need to overcome the challenges we face. Will there be difficult times, yes, however, through those challenges and through those difficulties, we grow closer to Him, and to each other.

Thank you Father for continuing to show me your love. Thank you for showing me how truly blessed we are to be your children. Help us Father to continue to share your gifts of love and strength with those who may not know you as we do.

Have a good day my friends.
