I Know What it Can Do

I’ve been sharing over the past few days in this little blog, the need for prayers for a little child fighting hard to get well. They are still much needed my friends. Little Baby M was transferred to a children’s hospital yesterday and they’ve placed her in ICU to provide more focused care and understand why she is not getting better.

As I’ve sat feeling helpless like so many friends and family waiting for updates on how she’s doing, I keep lifting prayers. I stop in the middle of the day, heck, I stop about every hour, and just ask Father to heal this little one. I have to admit, I don’t usually ask why of Father, however, these last few days I have found myself having those conversations. Why does this little one have to go through this, what are we to learn, what are we to see through this process?

This morning as I talked with Father, I realized I was replaying memories of 18 years ago when our grandson Austin was in a children’s hospital. He had been airlifted there for emergency surgery when he was barely two weeks old. As I have shared here before, he is a miracle child and because of the incredible skills of doctors and nurses, our “little guy” is now 18. I will never forget those weeks and months as he fought and overcame every challenge, and was made well.

We had a mountain of prayers being lifted back then, just like Baby M has now. I have to admit, I don’t understand yet why she is going through this, but what I do understand, what I do know, is what the power of prayer can do. I know firsthand how Father answers prayer, and I know with all my heart that He hears the mountains of prayers being lifted now. Father healed our little one years ago and I believe He will heal this little child now.

I don’t know if we will ever understand the why when things happen, or if it’s God’s plan for us to understand. Through this process though I’ve watched people who don’t even know each other come together to pray for a little one they have never met. This, this is Father at work. This is what He calls us to do.

Yes, my friends, I know what the power of prayer can do. I’ve seen it, our family has experienced it, and it is real. Please continue to add Baby M to your prayers with all who need them this day. Father hears them.

Thank you my friends πŸ™‚
