A few days ago I shared a little bit of a conversation I had with a dear friend who was going through some things. She told me about a family member, a cousin, who had been involved in an accident that resulted in him breaking his back. During that conversation, she shared that he was of course in the hospital and was scheduled for surgery the next day. Things were touchy and they weren’t sure what to expect, he had limited feeling in his lower extremities, and surgery of this type was always risky. My friend was on her way to be with the family, and to, unfortunately, attend the funeral of one of her long-time friend’s daughters 😦 .
I talked with my friend late yesterday afternoon just to make sure she had gotten home safely from her trip and to see how things were going. She was tired but home safely. What I heard next made my heart happy. You see, the cousin who underwent surgery was actually HOME. As you can imagine my response was, “What?”. She explained that the surgery had gone beautifully, repairing of vertebrae, inserting several rods and screws, etc. later, and he was walking. When the doctors came in after surgery, witnessing how quickly this man was recovering they simply said, “We don’t understand, he shouldn’t even be alive, much less walking”. 🙂
Isn’t it amazing what happens when Father steps in? I do have to admit, I’m surprised when doctors are amazed at healing they don’t expect. As we all know, and have experienced, ALL THINGS are possible through God. He and He alone can heal what we believe is impossible. Father answers prayers.
Stories like this, of healing and repair, there are so many of these occurring right now. My hope is that we, God’s children, focus on the healing, the sharing of faith, and the lifting of each other that is happening right before us. Let’s build on these types of situations, let’s keep sharing the stories when they happen. Let’s not focus on the ugly, the distractions, the bad that the news reports every single day.
So my friends, let’s continue to offer healing prayers to Father when they are needed, and when He steps in, let’s share those stories. Together we can show others how truly wonderful He is 🙂 .
Happy Sunday!

O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
