Make it About Them

There are times when you’re not sure what you’re doing is the right thing. Then Father brings people or situations into your life to affirm you are on the right track. Yesterday He did just that. I shared in this little blog yesterday morning, the experience I had on Wednesday with our keynote speaker when he arrived at our hotel. Well, yesterday as I spent more time with him I realized Father had brought him into my life for a reason.

You see Chad’s message is all about making it about others. When you live your life by placing others first, the rest will fall into place. His message resonated with many yesterday as you can probably imagine. There were laughs and there were tears and there was a sense of “yes we need to get back to this behavior” throughout. Our world needs this, putting others first I mean, doing what it takes, because you can, not because you have to.

Throughout the day yesterday, I was blessed to have so many stop me just to say thank you, like first-timers who were overwhelmed with how connected they felt after just one day. The people who stopped to give a hug and share a story were the highlight. This is what I love most about what I do, seeing the light in the eyes of so many who are helped by this event. We make it about them because it is. This meeting isn’t about our organization it’s about service to our members, and I think that’s what makes it all work so well, we do put them first.

Today we will have a graduation ceremony for about 120 individuals. They’ve worked hard to earn a professional designation, and for some, this will be the first graduation they’ve ever participated in. The sense of pride and accomplishment they will feel is what matters. This ceremony is about them, not our organization. We will celebrate them today 🙂 .

So my friends, let’s get back to making it about them first. Whether it is your children, spouse, friends, or strangers, make it about them first.

Have a wonderful day my friends 🙂 .

As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.
