If you dropped in on this little blog yesterday you know that I was enjoying a day of a little pampering and downtime. Believe it or not, I stuck to that plan, which is something to be said indeed 🙂 . I got the hair and toes taken care of, did manage to read a little, doze a little and I even replaced some plants in my planters out front. It was definitely a good day and one much-needed.

Yesterday morning after my appointment, I took some time to drive around my favorite place. As I drove around the island I couldn’t help but notice its beauty. Yes, you can see the ocean which of course is always beautiful, but the palm trees, the flowers, and the wildlife. I just looked at everything and realized how lucky I am. I gave thanks to Father for the beauty around me, and the opportunity to live where I do.

Later in the day, I noticed on social media how friends were posting pictures of their Saturday outings, and again I noticed the beauty. There were pictures of mountains, forests, tall green trees, or others, like me near the ocean, oh and of course there were a few in football stadiums 🙂 . In every case though, the beauty of this land was so prominent.

Friends we are so lucky to live where we do. Whether you are near an ocean, in the mountains, enjoy the dry desert, or are in the heartland of the nation, we are blessed. Father has provided an incredible landscape for us to steward. Our task is to take care of this place we call home and to enjoy its beauty.

I hope you will take some time today to get out and enjoy the gift of this land that Father has given. Go watch the sunrise, or set, take a moment to look up at the blue sky, or sit quietly and enjoy the rain that may be falling. Simple gifts yes, but more importantly, they are priceless gifts. Take a little time today to enjoy and give thanks.
