A Day of Prayer

As everyone knows the news this week has gotten considerably more distressing. The events in the Middle East are escalating and the “chatter” intensifying. There are groups calling for violence today, October 13th, Friday the 13th. I don’t think that is a coincidence, a day that is associated with darkness.

Our world is a scary place, around every corner there is another issue, challenge, or tragedy to fill our minds with dread. Satan knows exactly what he is doing. He stokes the flames of fear, anxiety, and hatred among God’s children. Just a little poke and before we know it, God’s children are hating each other and Satan sits back and smiles, having barely lifted a finger. I can almost hear him saying to Father, “See, they don’t love you as you thought, they easily follow me and do as I suggest”.

Today my friends, well every day for that matter, I suggest a counter to the day of violence that is being suggested. Instead, we need to be heavily focused on a day of prayer. Prayers lifted for all who are suffering, in war, in health crisis, in poverty, in abusive relationships, incarcerated, those who are alone, those living in fear, our first responders, our military, and our governments. This world is in need of MAJOR prayer. Our focus needs to be on Father, He, and only He can help us overcome the evil that has risen to this level.

Let us lift prayers today, let us help one another today, smile at a stranger, say thank you to the women at the drive-through window, call a friend, sit in quiet today and simply pray. Let us ask Father to heal the hearts of His children, remove the pain, and tear down the walls that divide us. Let us ask Father to protect His children across this world and to help us defeat the evil that satan is executing.

Yes my friends, today, I will lift prayers at every turn. Today, and every day, I will continue to lean into Father, to ask Him to show me how I can help make this world better. How can I help to show His love and heal the hearts of those who are hurting.

Pray today my friends, simply lift prayers.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
