Hands On

Oh, it’s Saturday once more, ahhhh 🙂 . You all know I’ve shared many times before in this little blog that I really do love this day of the week. It’s just a totally different mindset on this day, isn’t it?

I’m spending the morning with my canning buddies. Our Christmas Market is three weeks from today so we are busily finishing the final products. Mango chutney is on deck for today 🙂 .

This afternoon though I think I’m going to spend a little time getting back to some simple things. I want to start some plants in my indoor aero garden. Ya, here in SW Florida we grow veggies in the winter 🙂 . Then I think I’m going to prep to make bread again. If you are new to this little blog, I’ll just share that I’ve got a love/hate relationship with yeast, so I’m really trying to train myself to work with it. Making bread is a quick way to learn, or flop for sure. I do want to spend some time though just working with my hands and relaxing a bit.

Working with my hands, like planting seedlings, kneading bread, refinishing a furniture piece, all of these types of things, it allows me to have quiet time and share thoughts with Father. You just get into a groove I guess and move into your own little world, it’s a special place with God for sure.

So yes, I think today I’ll be hands-on, even during our canning festivities this morning. Of course that isn’t quiet time with Father, nah, we’re too busy chatting and laughing, however, He will be in the midst of us and our work.

Well, friends, I wish you a wonderful Saturday and whatever you are doing I hope you can spend a little quiet time working with your hands. Get into that special place and have a chat with Father. Have an awesome day 🙂 .

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

Ooh that sounds like a wonderful day! Have you tired sourdough bread yet? Start your own starter and use the discard for recipes as well. That’s quite a bit of fun. If you haven’t tried making fresh pasta yet…. once you start you won’t want the store bought stuff. Yum!

    1. I tried my hand at the sourdough starter earlier this year. Travel and work got in the way of keeping it going. However…it’s back on the list to try again. And..yes pasta too. My daughter recently made the pasta from scratch and she loved it. So many new things to try 🙂
