Ah yes, the many times I’ve said this over the years. I’m guessing we’ve all said it at one time or another. You know, you make a simple mistake and you think “Well that was stupid”. I guess it’s human nature.
I found myself saying it yesterday, out loud to a group of wonderful volunteers who were helping me finish the large project I talked about earlier this week. They all laughed, and then one of them commented, “Sounds like a great title for a blog post”. We laughed even more, and well, here we are 🙂 . Maybe I should start asking for titles for this little blog and I can write how I think Father is working through those words. Hmm…I’ll give that some more thought 🙂 .
So yes, as I sit here this morning and think about the times I’ve felt stupid, felt like I should have known better, I can’t help but wonder what Father would say if He were standing next to me. I’m guessing He would remind me that He created me and He doesn’t create stupid. I actually think He would say, we need to eliminate this word from our vocabulary totally. Calling ourselves stupid or others, ya, not cool in His book I’m guessing.
We are human, we will make mistakes. How we handle our mistakes, or the mistakes of others, well I think that will show how close to Father we are. Are we willing to give grace, to learn from what occurred, and to grow stronger because of it, whether the mistake was ours or someone else’s? I think when we can do so, then Father looks down pleased at who we’ve become.
So my friends, let’s accept that we will all make mistakes. Let’s apologize when we do, let’s give grace to those who might affect us, and let’s help each other grow and learn from the mistakes we make. And…let’s do our best to eliminate that word stupid.
Have a wonderful day everyone 🙂 .
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
