Last night on the way home from work, we stopped at the beach to watch the sunset. I have to admit it was a beautiful evening, with very little wind, and the beach, surprisingly was not that crowded. There were groups of friends who, like us had come down just to watch the sun set over the water. They, like us pulled out their chairs and little tables and settled in.
As my husband and I sat and nibbled on some noche and enjoyed a beverage, (ya we packed a picnic happy hour you could say), I let my feet go back and forth in the sand. Looking out over the water we watched a few boats, a kayak, and some funny contraption that looked like a canoe with a motor on it, pulling a skier. Ya, that was new! Anyway, I realized that coming to this place never gets old. Each time I get the opportunity to spend time on the beach I realize how incredibly blessed I am to be in one of my favorite places on earth, and actually to call it home.
Yes, we complain about the traffic here, (and it is something to complain about trust me), we have to deal with potential hurricanes, and of course, there is “season”. But…in the end, it’s all worth it to call this place we love home.
I said a little thank you to Father last night as we sat and just watched and relaxed. I don’t think we can say thank you enough to Him for each and every blessing we enjoy, and I’m pretty sure He won’t tire of hearing us say those words.
Friends, as we celebrate tomorrow, let us not forget how important it is to give thanks always, not just on major holidays. There are so many little things in our lives that we can be thankful for, that don’t require a big meal and a family gathering.
This morning as you ready yourself for work, or if you’re doing the meal prep for the big day, just take a moment to say thank you for the little things too. The gift of a sunrise or a sunset, the gift of fall colors on the trees, the gift of the smell of a fresh cup of coffee, you get the idea.
Have a wonderful day my friends, thank you all for the gift of being here to check in on this little blog every day 🙂 .
