It’s an easy word to say, it’s sometimes a difficult process to accomplish. When I talk with Father daily I ask him to forgive me of my sins, the things I’ve done, or not done, the thoughts I’ve had or the things I’ve said, or not said, etc. I ask Him to help me every day to be better, to be a child that He can be proud of.
This morning as I sat and talked with Father and prayed those familiar words, I heard Him say “Share these”. I thought about that and realized I come to Him each day, several times a day asking for forgiveness, which I know He willingly and lovingly gives. In turn, he asks us to do the same for others. He asks us to open our hearts and to let forgiveness occur.
As I said before, the words are easy to say, but the true act of forgiveness can be difficult. You have to learn to let go of the pain, to lay that pain and hurt at the feet of Father, and leave it there. Let go of the pain, the hurt, the anger, or whatever feelings we may have, we have to lay it down and walk away from it so that our hearts may heal.
Satan loves when we don’t forgive, he loves it when we carry around pain or anger against others. You see, it’s his way of controlling our emotions, it’s his way of separating us from Father. Satan has power when we don’t forgive, and we all know how he enjoys power over God’s children.
So, whatever the pain, the act, or the words that have caused us to separate from others, let’s ask Father for help to forgive. Talk with Him and ask Him to help open our hearts to lay those feelings and emotions at His feet. When we can open our hearts to let go of the ugly, we make room for the love that only Father can give. And…only then can we truly share His love with others as He asks. It’s not easy friends, but as we head into Advent, let’s help each other forgive.
Have a great day my friends π .
Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
