Hear the Melody

Last night while I was making dinner I heard one of my favorite Christmas songs. It’s sung by Josh Groban and if you’ve ever watched The Polar Express you know which song I’m referring to, (hint, I’ve also included it below in this little blog). Now don’t get me wrong there are many Christmas songs that I love, but this is definitely in my top 5 🙂 .

We’re less than two weeks from Christmas and as we make our way through the hustle and bustle, I just encourage you to take a little time to just listen to some of your favorite music. I know by now you’ve probably heard every Christmas song you can think of, and might even be ready to put those collections away for another year. Just hold off doing that for a bit, and like I said take a little time, maybe right before bed, or on a Saturday morning over coffee, just sit and look at your tree, and listen to YOUR favorite tune. Take time to think about the reason for this season.

Father gave us His Son. He gave His Son to literally die for us. I cannot imagine how He felt on that night when this little baby made His way into our broken world. Knowing what would happen, knowing that we would ultimately reject Him. Father knew all of this, and yet He still gave us this priceless gift.

So friends, just take a little time to listen to music that brings you peace, brings you joy, and brings you closer to Father. Now I know the song I have here doesn’t speak specifically about Jesus, however, I believe it has more meaning than many think. The first step in our relationship with Father is believing, so yes I think the message in this song is appropriate.

Have a wonderful day my friends, and if you are so inclined, share what your favorite Christmas tune is.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
