Keep in Touch

Last night we had dinner with our Godson. He moved to Tampa several years ago so we, even after all these years, aren’t that far apart. We try to see each other serval times a year, especially near Christmas. I shared the story about us becoming his Godparents in this little blog earlier this year.

It was good to catch up with him and to hear updates about work and friends. He’s doing well and we invited him to come down and spend a few days with us when our daughter is in town for Christmas. The two of them were best friends growing up so it will be like old times 🙂 .

As I think about that dinner last night and keeping in touch with our Godson it got me thinking about keeping in touch in general. During this time of the year especially, it’s so important to reconnect with friends and family. Our lives get so busy and it’s so easy to lose total track of time, I mean before you know it the day is gone and you’re climbing into bed.

Father didn’t put us here to be loners, quite the opposite, He brought us into this world to connect and come together. He asks us to spread His love through connection, not isolation. It’s so important to keep in touch with family and friends, a phone call, a card or letter, yes even a text message, something to just say, I’m thinking of you. And you know what, that goes for those relationships that might even be strained. This time of year is a good time to just reach out and say, “You’re in my thoughts and I miss you”. Imagine how satan will feel when God’s children who might be estranged start coming back together. No better way to fight satan for sure than to come back together!

So friends as you begin the weekend, I just encourage you to reach out to those around you who you may have lost connection with. Keep in touch, share a cup of coffee, have a chat, and reconnect.

Have a wonderful day my friends, oh and say a little prayer, we have some nasty weather headed our way through Florida tonight and tomorrow. Lastly, Happy Wreaths Across America Day. If you are attending a ceremony, share your pictures on social media 🙂 .

Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
