One week from today is Christmas Eve. I know, if you are like me you are not quite sure where the entire year went, much less December. Today though, we celebrate Rose Sunday, or the third Sunday in Advent.
We, like many, have an advent wreath displayed in our home. There is one pink candle among the three purple candles. The pink will be lit today. This particular Sunday in Advent, Rose Sunday, and this particular candle, known as the Shepherd’s candle, represents the joy that comes through the arrival of the baby Jesus. It represents the joy the shepherds felt when the Angel came to tell of His birth.
Today friends, regardless of what might be happening in the world, let us rejoice knowing that very soon we will celebrate the birth of the Christ Child. Let’s not worry about the gifts we give, or receive, because we have already received the greatest gift of all, the Son of God.
Have a wonderful day my friends, may it be filled with joy knowing that Father has given us the most precious gift 🙂 .
Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
