Final Preparations

As I thought back over this week, I realized this morning as I sat down to write this little blog that the final preparations for Christmas were happening around me. We had a team lunch in our office yesterday, when I went to pick it up at this little shopping area downtown, you could see visitors had already arrived to spend the holidays with family. People were sitting outside enjoying beverages and had packages in bags beside them. We had our final weekly Thursday event last night at church until after the new year. People are signing off their emails with, “I’ll be gone next week for Christmas, have a Merry one”.

My husband and I finished wrapping gifts last night, our cookie/snack packages have been delivered to neighbors and friends. Now I’m putting the final touches on the Christmas brunch menu, shopping tomorrow and we’re ready 🙂 .

Our youngest is arriving tomorrow and we’re looking forward to having family here for Christmas. We’ll celebrate some of our Christmas Day traditions for sure. For those traveling over the next few days, I lift a prayer for safe and “uneventful” travels.

Friends, I’m going to take a few days off to enjoy time with family and friends. I encourage you to do the same. I encourage you to step away from social media, look less at your phone, and dive into the love of family and friends around you. Let us spend quality time with those around us. As you make your final preparations for Christmas, take a few moments each day to remember The gift of Jesus.

Have a wonderful Christmas, my friends, I’ll be back at this little blog later next week. Thank you as always for your support and encouragement each day as I share my ramblings here. Merry Christmas 🙂 .

Matthew 2:11
And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
