Last year I shared several blogs about a beautiful eagle family down here in SW Florida. We have an “eagle cam” that captures the day-to-day life of these amazing creatures. There was tragedy last spring when the mother Harriett was killed by a predator as she tried to protect her eaglets while M15 the father was out hunting for food. We watched as M15 took over the role of mother and father and prayed that his two young eaglets would survive, especially as they were left alone while he hunted for food. By early summer both eaglets had grown into beautiful birds and left the nest. M15 did an amazing job, now he was an empty nester.
We’ve all wondered what would happen next. Eagles mate for life so we weren’t sure if he would find a new mate. Well, several months ago, M15 was seen with a new female, who they have named F23. Don’t ask me why they all can’t be named like Harriett was, they use number names, which is very confusing at times 🙂 . Anyway, M15 did find a new mate and the happy news is that F23 laid two eggs. Just after the holidays they hatched, unfortunately, one did not survive but the second hatched and is a thriving healthy eaglet. Growing like a weed as they say.
It’s truly amazing to watch this eagle family. The parents protect this eaglet, clean him/her, they support each other, you can see the care, the love so clearly when you watch. They are not unlike the human family, they face challenges, have fears, are fierce protectors of their young, and they grow together in love.
Father shows us that through all of the challenges that life will bring our way, there is hope for new beginnings. He shows us the chance for new life. He shows us that with strength, true faith, and belief in His works, we can overcome the challenges we encounter. M15 was lost when Harriett went missing. Over the months you could see him mourn. However, he rose up strong followed his instincts, overcame the loss he endured, and…he has brought new life into the world. He will do what he was born to do, teach, and raise his offspring to one day be parents themselves.
I shared last year in this little blog, that I feel we can learn quite a bit from this eagle family. Have faith in Father, believe in His love for each of us, and believe in yourself. We are God’s children and we were born to be strong. Like M15, we can endure and we can overcome.
Have a wonderful day friends, oh, and if you want to watch this amazing eagle family you can catch their daily activities here.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
