A Picture – A Message

A few days ago my brother sent me a picture, to use for this little blog. He mentioned in his text, “not sure if this is quality enough for your blog, but I thought it was cool”. I glanced at the picture and thought it was beautiful, the sun rising over the snow in IL that morning. I replied that it was indeed good, and just seeing the sun was a welcome site, (especially since we’ve had gloom here in FL for weeks).

Well, this morning I uploaded the picture to use and when I opened it on my computer it stopped me in my tracks. What I thought was a simple picture of a sunrise was so much more. The sun, a fiery image in the center, is radiating so brightly. To the sides of the picture are almost rainbow-type lines. When I saw the picture it reminded me of the story in the Bible of when Moses speaks to Father. He comes down from the mount with the 10 commandments and his face shone, (was glowing) because he had been talking with God. I wonder if he saw something like this picture when he spoke to Father?

I think Father slips in these images in our daily lives as reminders that He is everywhere, and always has been. It’s like I was saying yesterday about the history, the stories in the Bible, they pertain to so much today. We have the chance to see Father just as Moses did, we have the chance to talk with Him and have that relationship with Him. We can be as strong as Moses was in believing that Father has chosen us to share His message.

Over time I’ve come to understand that Father is not this ever-present “being” just floating in the heavens above us. He is here with us in everyday life. He wants a relationship with us, just like He had relationships with so many before us, Moses for instance. We are just as important to God, He loves ALL His children and I think His presence becomes known in simple pictures like I received from my brother.

So friends, look for Father in your everyday activities. He is here, not just floating above. He is with us and wants us to deepen the way in which we interact with Him, (in my humble opinion anyway).

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
