If you’ve been reading this little blog for long, you know that I spend time each morning and evening out on my lanai. It’s quiet time with Father, oh and the view is a plus too 🙂 . During the week I’m out on the lanai very early in the morning, like right now it’s still dark in the morning when I’m there. I love this time because it is so quiet and peaceful.
Our neighbors are early risers as well. Though retired they are all up around 5:00, making coffee, and reading newspapers. When I’ve asked them about getting up so early, they just say it’s a habit and see no reason to change. Anyway, this morning when I was out on the lanai, I heard the shutters on the lanai next to us go up. It’s one of our neighbors who is an early riser. Like me, she enjoys sitting on her lanai early in the morning, though she is usually out when the sun is rising. When I heard her shutters go up, Father gave me a thought for this morning’s blog, it was simply, “Open the door”.
I guess when we think about sharing the message of Father and His Son, it really is that easy, just open the door for people to hear more about that message. Be open to sharing, be open to discussing, be open to showing Father’s love. Invite others to come in through that open door, just like we do when we ask someone into our home, we open the door and invite them in.
Sometimes I think we feel uncomfortable talking about Father and His gifts to us. We don’t want to offend or make someone else uncomfortable, and I’m not sure why that is, trust me I’ve been there too. If all we are doing is simply sharing a story of how God helped his children why would we be uncomfortable. We share stories all the time about things that have happened to us, or things we’ve learned in life, why not be just as comfortable sharing the story of how Father has helped us in life, why not open the door to show others what we’ve found in our relationship with Him?
Just some things to consider this morning as we make our way into the weekend my friends. Let’s open some doors, share some stories and along the way, share Father’s unending, pure love of us.
Have a great day friends 🙂 .
p.s. Thanks to my friend Laura Mets for the amazing sunset picture from last night that is the header of this little blog today 🙂
Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
