Oh yes…the beginning of a new week. We all know the feeling, it usually starts on Sunday evening. You realize, “Where did the weekend go?”. Mondays, in my opinion, have gotten a bad rap. Just because they are usually the first day of the week, usually associated with going back to work after a few days off, you get the idea. It’s a new day, a new week, and a new opportunity.
This morning during my usual conversation time with Father, I started it off by saying Happy Monday. What I heard back was a new day, a new week, and a new opportunity. Each day, regardless of where it falls in the week, is an opportunity to be better than we were before. Each day gives us a blank canvas to share our gifts, and ourselves with others. We can dread the day because it’s a Monday, or we can be thankful that we’re here to experience it and all that the day can bring.
Over the many years that I have worked in the business world, I’ve prided myself on always saying good morning. Whether in an office building or working from home, whenever I see or speak to coworkers I begin with a “Good Morning”. You would be surprised how those two little words can change the perspective of someone. Even the grumpiest of team members would smile and return the greeting, hmmm, the morning just got a little brighter for them. It’s a simple thing to do, and it provides an opportunity to start the day on a high note, again regardless of the day of the week.
I guess this morning I’m on a mission to help everyone see this first day of the workweek differently. Let’s take the opportunity to change that Monday perspective from “Ug back to work”, to “A new day, a new opportunity”. Let’s take the opportunity to share Father’s love, even if it is a simple “Good Morning”. Every day we have is a gift, my friends, so let’s accept these gifts and show our thankfulness in making the most of each day.
Happy start to the week, may it be filled with great opportunities. Good Morning Friends 🙂 .
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
