You’re Not Weak

It’s a busy week ahead. We have a very large event on Thursday that I’m overseeing. Each year our church gives grants to local charities in our county. This year we’ve approved grants to 16 charities, and the event Thursday wraps up the grant process and secures the final funds needed for these organizations. It’s a big event with lots of people and to say I’m juggling some balls would be a tad of an understatement. I’m blessed to have the help of some amazing volunteers who have helped at this event for many years, so I’m learning the ropes quickly. It’s just that it’s the first time I’ve been to this event, much less being in the position of executing it 🙂 . It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, to feel like I should know what I’m doing, it’s easy to feel like I’m not strong enough to handle this task. I guess we all get that way at times about the various tasks and/or challenges we face in this life.

This morning while spending time with Father before coming to this little blog, I just asked for guidance as I make my way through the week. I asked Him to help me stay on track, to help me stay focused, and more importantly to help me keep Him first in all that I do this week. Keeping God first as I move through my checklists and the execution of those tasks is what will make this event memorable.

It’s also ok to ask for help and to ask for prayers from people you know and love. I know it seems silly to ask for prayers for something like this, the planning of an event, but I think it’s ok. We don’t always have to have a major life event occur to ask for prayers. I think it’s ok to ask for prayers of guidance and focus, so yep, I’m askin’ this morning friends. Just a little prayer to ask Father to keep me laser-focused this week.

Friends, we are a strong lot, we are children of God, however, we are human. We need support and encouragement even during those times when others may think the situation isn’t that big a deal. So, let’s lend a hand, lift a prayer, and be there to support when asked. Together we can make each other stronger because we’re not weak, we just need to be reminded of that every now and then.

Have a great day friends, and thank you tons for your prayers and your awesome support of this little blog each day 🙂 .

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
