Let Love be Genuine

Well, it’s a busy day on tap here. If you’ve been following along this week you know I’ve been overseeing a large event that’s taking place tonight at our church. Each year we raise funds for community outreach, and this year I’m happy to say we’ve approved grants for 16 organizations in the community. We cap off our grant process this evening with a gala celebration. I’ve been having fun learning the ropes of this event, and stressing just a tad. It’s coming together nicely and yesterday I spent the afternoon with the volunteer committee doing some initial set up. We’ll put the final touches on things this morning and I’ll hopefully get a breath in there at some point 🙂 .

This morning as I sat and spent time with Father I thought about the organizations that will be helped by these grants. I thought about the parishioners who donated to help us raise the funds to honor these special grants. The love they showed to support organizations, (many of which are very small), who want to just help others, well that love showed in their actions. God’s children helping God’s children, showing genuine love and care for others. That my friends is what it’s about.

Today is also a special day for a family member, my brother celebrates a birthday today 🙂 . I know he reads this little blog each day, so I want to send a huge hug to him. Michael, Happy birthday, thank you for always being there for me. May your day be filled with love and joy and may Father bless you in the coming year. I love you ❤ .

Friends, in whatever we do, however we celebrate may the love we show be genuine. May the love we share be filled with Father’s grace and peace. May we be guided each day to share His love and help those who need it most.

Have a great day my friends 🙂 .

Romans 12:9-18
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
