If you’re like me you usually wake up before the alarm goes off each morning. Ya, I’m usually out of bed at least 10 minutes before the alarm. I’ve heard others say that their bodies just know what time it is and even on the weekends they wake up at that same time. Well, I don’t have that rigid of a body clock on Saturday mornings 🙂 .
Anyway, this morning I woke with a start as my husband realized the alarm was just about to go off. I looked at the clock and hopped out of bed, still before the alarm but within a minute or so. I was already feeling like I had overslept, even though my alarm had not even beeped. As I made my way through my morning routine, I realized that, even though I had slept pretty soundly last night, I was dragging this morning. During my morning time with Father, I even asked for some strength to get me going this morning. I asked him to clear my mind, strengthen my body, and guide me today.
I wonder how many of you are feeling the same way today or this week? I think we all find ourselves feeling like we’re carrying a heavy ball around sometimes. We have so much going on, we’re busy with work or school, family activities, volunteering, our lives are filled with commitments, and we sometimes forget that we need to take time to rest. Before you know it, your body just says, “Hey, I’m going to just take a break here for a bit”. Father built those little triggers in us I think. He created a pretty amazing home for our souls to live in, these bodies of ours. We just need to do our part in taking care of them, and yes listening when they say it’s time to rest.
Well, as I sit here and put some of these thoughts into this little blog this morning, I’m already feeling better. I’m not sure if you’re experiencing what I did this morning friends, if so, I just encourage you to listen to your body. If you feel like it needs rest, then let it rest. Ask Father to help you to do just that. He gave us these amazing bodies that do incredible things and wants us to take care of them while we’re here.
Have a great day my friends. Time to find some coffee and get this day
started 🙂 .
Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
