A friend of mine oversees a website for his church that shares wonderful daily scripture in small snippets. The Bible can be overwhelming to read at times, it gets easier over time and the more you read it, the more it reads you. So, though I’m trying to read the Bible cover to cover, I also take in those snippets each morning.
This morning the New Testament reading was the story of the disciples in the boat and fighting the sea. Jesus saw this and walked on the water to be with them and calm the seas, “Take heart, do not be afraid, it is I”. He got into the boat and they all went to the other side. Once on land people saw Jesus and recognized him. They began bringing the sick to him to heal. They begged Him that they might just touch the fringe of his cloak to be healed. The verse says that all who touched it were healed.
Imagine being in that day, being near Jesus, seeing the miracles that He performed. He healed the sick, He raised the dead, and He tells us that we will do greater works than He. I know it’s hard to believe, that we can heal the sick or raise the dead, but what is not hard to believe is that our prayers to Father have the power to heal sickness and hey, there have been many a person brought back to life and tell the story.
Friends, this morning I ask that you lift healing prayers for a pair of sisters whose mother has been fighting a nasty illness the last few weeks. Last night she was back in the emergency room. Let us touch the fringe of Jesus’ cloak, let us lift prayers for healing for Leah and Michele’s mom, that Father will bring His healing power upon her, and make her healthy again.
I’ve come here often and asked for prayers, and you always deliver. I always say the more prayers we lift together, the louder they get and Father hears those prayers. So this morning I simply ask that you lift them again for Leah and Michele’s mom, that she may be healed and restored to full health. Father, hear our prayers. Thank you my friends for the prayers and for your continued support each day here with this little blog.
p.s. Thank you also to my friend Colleen Huff for the beautiful sunrise picture yesterday morning in Chicago, the cover of today’s little blog.
Mark 6:56
And wherever He entered villages, or cities, or countryside, they were laying the sick in the market places, and entreating Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured.
