Father and the Dog

If you’ve read this little blog for long you know that we have a little contingent of fur babies around the neighborhood. I kind of live dog ownership through their visits each day. I’ve been known to stop my car and hop out to get some puppy kisses from them.

Well last night was another one of those nights when an owner was passing by with her pup. He’s just the cutest little guy with the best name, Murphy. He’s younger than most of the dogs in the community, he just turned three and he’s finally starting to settle down a bit from his puppy years. Anyway, I made my way outside when I saw them talking to my husband, (he was at the grill making dinner). As soon as I stepped outside, Murph came running to me. I got my fill of puppy kisses and he got his belly rubs, win/win as always.

I wandered over to drop in on the conversation being had and my husband and Murphy’s owner were talking about Easter. They were discussing the large crowds at church that day. I agreed, we definitely had tons of people at our church on Easter. Actually, we just finalized the counts and the number attending this year was over 20% more than in 2023. Murphy’s owner said her church was packed as well, and I shared with her that a friend of mine had also shared with me that at her church on Good Friday, their priest spent three hours confirming new adults to the faith. On Marco Island, (you all know it’s my happy place), on Easter morning, their sunrise service filled the south beach. The pictures of the people were amazing. My goodness, this makes my heart happy. So many people making their way back to Father!

I’ve heard these similar stories recently. People are feeling the need to be closer to God. It doesn’t matter what denomination, there is a pull, a push, whatever you want to call it people are openly talking about being closer to Father. Even on college campuses, I’m reading stories of students gathering for revivals and being baptized. Again, it makes my heart happy!

Whatever is happening, people are growing in their relationship with Father. That my friends is a very good thing. Let us continue to share His love and grace in all that we do, because the more people see it, the more they want a part of it.

Have a great day my friends and as always, thanks so much for your support of this little blog šŸ™‚ .

Acts 2:41
So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
