We’ve been fortunate over the past few weeks to have some amazing weather here in SW Florida. The skies have been an incredible blue, the humidity has been low and the temperatures not much above 80 during the day. In the evening and early mornings, it’s been cool. This kind of weather has provided a great backdrop for getting some spring cleaning to-do’s checked off the list.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet up with some peeps from our Marco Patriots group. We’re doing a small event next weekend so we gathered to organize some inventory and make sure we had our ducks in a row. Then a trip to the carwash. Once home I spent some time spray washing our lanai chairs, behind the cleaning my husband had already done on the lanai earlier in the day. Finished off the day with the weekly grocery run. All through the Saturday “chores”, I just kept commenting on how beautiful the day was.
When we sat down for dinner last night my husband and I commented on how nice it felt to have the lanai cleaned, like top to bottom literally. He too got a few chores off the list and we both just felt better. I’m sure we are like most couples, when you check things off the to-do list, and do some spring cleaning, you feel so much better. Things are more orderly and you just feel like you’re ready to take on what’s next. This might be a stretch but I think Father likes it when we have things in order. He likes us to take care of ourselves, our bodies, and our dwellings. It shows respect for what He created. Maybe that’s why we feel better when we’ve done the chores.
There are many things in this life that we don’t like or want to do. However, when we take the time to just tackle the project, there is a sense of accomplishment that comes along when it’s finished. Whatever it is, let’s just get it done, do it to the best of our ability, and know that on the other side, we’re going to feel better.
Have a great day my friends, and may you, like us, have the opportunity to check some things off your to-do list.
p.s. Many thanks to my friend Beth Argeros for the awesome sunset picture, the cover of today’s little blog.

And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order.
